Google as decided to make all of your profiles public online from the end of this month. This will take place on July 31st, and after that all Google Profiles will go public. It still have an option to hide your profile but after the change, the gender and full name will have to displayed publicly on your profile, while other information could be hidden from the public.
This move of Google is intended to help facilitate faster growth of Google+, since you only need to have your full name and gender displayed publicly to join Google +. After then the said date all private profiles will be deleted. The only way to keep profiles is to make it public.
This referred account is regardless if it's a Google Plus or not. The decision of Google still questionable if is it worth it.
